The death has been announced of cult TV quizmaster Bob Holness, who has passed away after a long illness at the age of 83 years old.
He is most famous for hosting the teenage ITV quiz show Blockbusters, which ran from 1983 until 1993, known to many teenagers at that time as 'Uncle Bob'.
He was also part of an urban legend myth... people believing he was the saxophonist in the song Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty... in fact it was someone else entirely, but Bob Holness played along with the myth, never denying it, and never admitting to it either!
He leaves his wife and three children. |

She had a choice and plenty of chances in life to turn herself around... some of us haven't.
May she rest in peace. |
